General Rules
5) Roleplaying RulesDue to issues in the past with this this sadly needs to be implemented. But from now on you will be required to post a minimum of 200 words in a post which to most is a typical post length. Below you will see an example of what 200 words will look like.
Filp wants to be the avatar but currently cant cause korra is still alive. He feels that he would be a better avatar because god damn reasons. Though many think hes wrong cause korra aint that bad. That is when you don't compare her to aang and the gang. Cause it you done do and go about doin that yah do you will find that aint no body gonna copare to them so stop comparing them already we all know that toph is the **** there aint no debate about that shiiz brah.
SO back to square one.... korra and her team of discount sokka, zuko, and katara being played as an elderly man avatar is a great team up though flip stiiiil thinks be be gonna be a bettah avatar than Korra cause he has no friends and all the edge. He even cut himself on dat edge. Hes a meta bender but with the tick of only feeling like he can only metal bend metal with sharp edges. But hey at least he ain't goin after mah girl tylee, she be my one true and only girl she always gets the.... point.... see cause shes knows pressure points?
Now if you are a bit under by 50 words or something we won’t mind but if you continously barely even hit 100 words then we will sadly have an issue. In addition we ask you to put in as much grammar, spelling, and punctuation in your posts as you can. Though this will only become an issue that we will have to address you about is if you flat out seem like you aren’t remotely trying to do any of this repetitively. If you would like a good word count site here is one you could use (
wordcounter.net/ ).
Like any other rule set of an rp site the following is just flat out not allowed.
GodmoddingThis is the term used to describe typed out actions by individuals that makes other characters do or say things that's unlike them, and/or without their consent. You are not allowed to force any character you do not own to perform any action without their consent. Per example, if Emblem was fighting Krious, I would not be allowed to let Krious say things ('Rainbows make me cry') or be automatically hit by my attacks.
PowerplayingThis term has a slight overlap with Godmodding, but it's meaning is slightly different. While we try to keep a balance in characters to make sure there's still some growth possible and there's no unfair edge they can have, there will always be situations where one character is stronger then the other. Powerplaying basically is a series of actions done by your characters that completely dominates or obliterates your opponent, such as beating them down without any possible escape, defensive mechanism or counterattack possible. Again, without consent of your opponent. Whatever you attempt, your opponent must have the ability to react or do something.
Ninjadodging This term and Rhinohiding are almost direct opposites of Powerplaying and Godmodding, but they are still quite illegal regarding roleplay activities. Ninjadodging refers to a character dodging everything that is thrown at him, time and time again. I would not think any opponent would still want to RP with such an adversary after two posts of Ninjadodging, but it's unrealistic as well. No character can see every attack coming, and dodge every single one of them, possibly even counter-attacking.
Rhinohiding This term is almost the same as Ninjadodging. It's where a character either takes all the attacks thrown at him (and not even be fazed, nor have any damage) or hides behind objects such as walls or cars to shield himself from all of it.
- In the past we have not allowed members to rule the world. But right now things will change. The new rules in regards to this is, you can rule the world but you must work up to this. This meaning months of arc and plot building leading to each logically planned out step to get your character to this position being performed and making every thread that you use to work towards this open so others can fight against you (threads that are big steps that you don't make open will be edited by staff to be open.) and told to the staff that this thread is meant for this task, even if it's a small one. You must fight off every person wanting to stop you or turn them to your side.
You must take every step in character and if you get to that level of world domination congratulations but just know that every thread you make upon doing this will be required to be open so anyone has the chance to take you down at any moment. If this is what you want to work towards and are willing to go through, go right ahead. But this is mandatory for you to do this. If you rule the world and go in active also be warned, the staff may in character have your character vanish or killed to restore order.
So in other words if you want to rule the world you must put in every ounce of your mind and power to do it like you would logically need to do in the real world and if you due take over the world in under 3-4 months staff will step in, it may seem like a long amount of time but once again logically taking over the world would take a VERY long time so you must really want it to even think you may reach this goal.
- On site you can die and you are not allowed to deny death by a random burst if power or anything. If you die in character though don't worry this is a super hero site after all. Super heroes die and come back all the time. So take this as an opportunity to add a curve to your character. Events may even show up to bring back dead characters. SO in other words, death is not the end for a character here, so don't panic if you do die in character,
-If you in character rp out abusing their powers that they may have gained in any way that makes absolute no sense to their character and is clearly done because you as the rper chose to do so you in character will see an npc join your thread closed or not and you will be nerfed and will have your powers cut based on your actions. Though you can work to get this back due to either good behavior and in character training, or by winning the powers back through other means.
-Many of you may know you are able to color thread titles, though we would like you to refrain from doing so. This way the staff can color threads based on what they are properly. If you continuously do so you will be asked to stop. If you continue we will have to punish you based on how you acted and what you did. If you want something colored that badly pm the staff about it first.
-Character reviewing is not something that should be overexerted. You only allowed to drop one character in a 2 month period from now on. If there is something major going on that you feel this needs to be looked past this once please pm the staff about it.
-Your character may be in as much threads as possible, but needs to know which one happened first. Messing up the chronological order would be quite sad.
-On site things can go past pg-13 but if it starts to get too far into rated R / gruesome, or anything try to put in some form of warning before it gets that far in your post. Though if it get to where normally a movie cuts to black due to things getting into smut/erp/lemon/sex territory cut to black as well and if you want to rp it that badly put it in pms It isn't needed on the rp threads.
-Swearing is alright due to censoring, though if it is not your character talking try to be tasteful with it.
-Personal and or team arcs that may significantly change the city, state, country, or other such things must be ran by staff first. This way other members can be informed of the changes, and so that the thread can be open for them to attempt to change these fates of the city. THough your arc may be not allowed if it seems too outlandish especially if it doesn't logically fit with your team or character at all.
-Time travel i swallowed but it must always fit to these rules if they do not the thread will be moved to the au section and declared non canon.
* You can’t change the past: When traveling to the past you will instantly create an alternative time line that will not change nor affect the main sites time line in any way. WHen you travel back to the present you will be back in your own time line again, if you travel back to that same time again you will go back to a past that resembles your original past again and the process will repeat.
* The future isn't set in stone: WHen you travel to the future you are already changing how your future of the current time will be just by seeing the what would have been future.
* It's not just your story: If you interact with the pasts or futures of anyone's;e’s time lines you must talk to them about the plots and what they think. If you do not your thread will be put into the au section and deemed non canon.
* Think about it: You must have a logical reason as to how and why you are able to travel through time. Either It be by magic or science just try to make it make sense within that realm of things. In other words. Don’t half ass it. Time travel should be an epic story not a half baked one.
6) Chatbox rulesThe rules are short, simple, and easy to follow. So you really have no excuse for failing to do so.
- Don't harass other members. You may talk about generally whatever you want with the exceptions named, but if it becomes a problem and they tell you to stop, do so or continue it via pm. Obviously, flaming is also a no-no and if everyone in the CB is speaking on the subject, but you yourself are having issue with what's being discussed, please relocate yourself until the subject ends. We are not going to punish 14 people over 1 person's disposition, so it it's better if you just exit until the subject is done being discussed unless it's offensive and breaks site rules, then by all means report it.
- You can curse all you want on the chat box, but the moment you curse at a member to hurt them in any form or way you will be punished and this will not be a light punishment. This will be taken seriously even if you claim to be joking about it. If it hurts another joking does not matter you still at the end hurt them and thats whats important.
- A little flirting or whatever is fine, but cybering is a big, big problem. If we catch anyone cybering in the cbox, BOTH parties will be punished based on what they’ve done. Take it to PM or do a scene skip, but NO DETAILS!
- Keep religious discussion to minimum or take it to PM. Sorry, we may have a whole lot of Christians, Muslims, Jewish, Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists and Atheists etc on here and we all have our beliefs and practices and no one has any right to criticize them. Some people are more sensitive than others, so even if you say say something you don't deem offensive, it might be so to another person.
Now there is an exception when it comes to roleplay,if it ties in with your character, that is perfectly fine!
- Keep everything PG-13. You should all know what that means.
- The user of the account through which any of the above rules were violated, is at all times responsible of anything that occurs with his/her account. Hackers, little brothers, silly kittens, possessing Symbiotes, or mysterious glitches are not any excuse.
7) Rules on general behaviorRules regarding interaction with other members:- This is not a dating site for the members to hook up. Keep it to pm's if you're going to.
– Be polite. If you know others personally, they will understand all things you say, but on sites such as TTRPG, you meet a lot of strangers, and all you know about them is their preferred nicknames/account name. Don't be a jerk on your first trip to the Chatbox or any thread. In character is one thing, out of character is another.
– Do not harass other members. If members do not want to talk in the Chatbox, or do not feel like Pming, do not harass or flame them for this. Each member has his or her own life to attend to. Likewise, do not bury them in endless PM's when they do not reply within 24 hours on any PM or thread you posted in. However, if they are blowing you off don't feel any loyalty to them.
-After 4 days feel free to skip the user and if you stated they would be skipped at the beginning of the thread if they didn't respond within a certain time do it, by all means that's on them, but still try to be patient and lenient. If you need to skip them sooner and they arent replying to you pm the staff first to make sure the member isn’t in a bad situation at the time and needs the extra time. You can also check LOA just to be sure if you feel you need to. (
ttrpg.forumotion.com/f111-leave-of-absence )
– Discussions are alright in general, but do not start pointless discussions time and time again, and do not start these within threads that don’t have anything to do with them in the first place.. Take it to an appropriate place, such as the Chat Room sub-board. Basically, stay on subject, OCC & OT ruin the flow of rps and threads.
-This is not an Au rping site. Yes we have aus here but if you only rp in aus all the time for months on end without ever posting in the main rp at all you will be asked to do so. If you choose not to you will not be allowed to post in aus for a while. If the issue persists you will be asked to leave the site.
Rules regarding interactions with the Moderators and Administrators:– The Moderators and Administrators have the right to point you at the Forumotion Terms of Service accepted when creating your account or any other ruling stated in this rulebook or elsewhere.
– If a Moderators sees any unjust action, he or she has the right to correct it even if the action was not yet spoken about in the rulebook. They will then proceed to contact the Administrator to add a rule correcting this.
– Moderators and Administrators have the right to edit any content on this site, including but not limited to any profiles, avatars, rules, and signatures.
– Unless clearly stated they allow this, no verdict made by a Moderator or Administrator may be up for discussion. If you really think a decision they made is unjust, PM the appropriate Moderator or Administrator and carefully explain why. If they feel your reasoning is valid, they will undo their decision. If not, then you can approach a higher up, but MAKE SURE your reasoning is valid. Basically, don't waste our time. However, most of the moderators are pretty decent individuals.
– The Moderators and Administrators at TTRPG strive to create a suitable environment for everyone to roleplay in. Respect their decisions, as sometimes, this means a little taking and giving. We want everyone to be satisfied, and have reasons behind everything we do. Moderators and Administrators however, will not voice those reasons every time it is asked for, especially not after they have already done it once or twice. We have no need to fully explain ourselves. Trust us! And keep an open mind. Please Always remember that the staff are just doing their jobs, if you do not like them enforcing the rules on you that's not on them. Im sure you wouldn’t want people coming into your work and yelling at you because you are doing your job. Staff are people too and we will not tolerate members harassing staff because they do not like being told to follow the rules.
– Misinterpretation of anything typed by a Moderator or Administrator is not their error, but those who misinterpreted the information unless a spelling/grammatical error occurred. Make sure to carefully read their posts.
– Decisions made by Moderators can only be revoked by a higher ranking staff member, or the Administrator. So do not try telling a moderator of the same standing if you do not get your way on something. (From lowest to highest the order is, Trainee Mods, Division 6, Moderators, General Moderators, and the Admin.)
Do keep in mind the Moderators and Administrators are here to help. Contrary to popular belief, they are human. You can ignore personal advices about your character, but every official command they give is to be followed. Don't worry, they're not too bad, they only bark if you behave and only bite if you don't. Talking to them in a formal manner will probably pay off more than the usual internet slang that appears everywhere.
They are not paid, they are here to have fun just like you.Respect is key here, if you show it to us, we will return it and then some.
